Sandblasted

Using a compressed-air-powered sandblasting machine, an abrasive is propelled onto a surface at a specific pressure. This gives the surface a matte appearance and eliminates any gloss. Only minimal light reflections are visible.

Sand is not the only abrasive used to treat the surface of jewelry. Other materials used include ice crystals, nut shells, glass granules, plastic granules, corundum, or blast furnace slag.
