Michel Parmigiani is a Swiss watchmaker and watch manufacturer.

Founder of the watch manufacturer Parmigiani under the name Parmigiani Mesure et Art du Temps SA. He was born 1950 in Couvet and spent his youth in the Val-de-Travers, a remote valley in the Swiss canton Neuchâtel.

Michel Parmigiani already made himself a name as an able watch restorer in the 1970s. In 1995, Parmigiani received the prestigious Prix Gaïa Artisanat-Creation award.

Parmigiani re-purchased the Bovet brand in 1989 but, unable to devote the resources to re-establish it, passed it on to others. Bovet Fleurier became Bovet 1822 in 2013 under new owner Pascal Raffy. Although friendly, the companies are no longer connected to Parmigiani.

In 1996, with the support of the Sandoz Family Foundation, Michel Parmigiani realized his dream of establishing his own watch manufacture: Parmigiani Fleurier grew rapidly with retail sales and through the acquisition of a wide variety of production centers. Today, the various Parmigiani companies are a major economic resource to the village of Fleurier and Val-de-Travers region.
