Cermet is a composite material, which for the first time was used by Hublot as case material of the model Big Bang "Bullet Bang". Its name is a contraction of ceramic and metal. It involves a newly developed, extra-hard compound ceramic and metals such as tungsten or bronze. Cermet is used e.g. for cutting and milling tools.

In addition to the unusual appearance that a watch shows with this material, a further welcome feature is that it is exceptionally resistant to scratches or deformation.
