JLC 828

Calibre 828 was a rectangular watch movement from Jaeger-LeCoultre, the company's first-ever production tourbillon.

In 1993, Jaeger-LeCoultre announced a Reverso with a tourbillon movement, Calibre 828. Being a Reverso, it features a power reserve indicator on the reverse, fan-shaped with the pivot in the upper right corner of the movement. The tourbillon is centered at the bottom of the movement. The face of the Reverso Tourbillon features hour and minute hands and small seconds at 6 00, a typical Reverso arrangement. Just 500 were produced.

Calibre 828 has a one minute tourbillon carriage which weighs just 0.25 gram even though it is constructed of 70 parts. It is a 27 jewel movement with power reserve of 45 hours.

The successor of this watch was the Reverso Platinum Number One, introduced in 2001 with Cal. 849SQ, as well as the Reverso Platinum Number Two with Cal. 848, introduced in 2003. These movements can be seen as the descendent of Cal. 828.
