Leica watches are a product of Leica Camera AG, headquartered in Wetzlar, Germany.

Leica cameras and sports optics products have been a renowned brand for over 150 years, earning its reputation through high quality, German craftsmanship and German industrial design, combined with innovative technologies. Leica CEO Andreas Kaufmann is personally responsible for the idea of a watch line that transfers the special sober and functional style of cameras to wristwatches.

The design of the models is inspired by the well-known camera models of the Leica brand. The technology was developed in cooperation with Lehmann Präzision GmbH, which also owns the Black Forest watch brand Lehmann.

After several years of preparation, the first two models, Leica L1 and Leica L2, were presented in February 2022.

April 2023 followed with the Leica ZM Monochrom Edition, a collection inspired by the Leica M11 Monochrom camera inspired collection, again with two models.
