Sterling silver
Sterling silver is a metal alloy of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals, usually copper. Thus the fineness is 925/1000. The alloy is harder than pure silver. It is often used for guilloché dials.
The name refers to the well-known British Pound Sterling. The former British penny coins were made from this material.
