Wah Ming Hong
Wah Ming Hong Ltd. is a Hong Kong-based jewelry and watch company best known as the current owner and operator of famed Swiss brand, Enicar.
Founded in 1967, Wah Ming Hong is a wholesale distributor of jewelry, watches, clocks, silverware, and other items. CEO Geoffrey Kao's grandfather, Lee Wai-lee, was the Shanghai agent for Enciar in the 1930s and managed the brand across Asia.
The company purchased the rights to the Enicar name after it became insolvent in 1988. Today, Wah Ming Hong operates “Enicar of Switzerland” with an address in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland and most models bear the brand, “Swiss Made”. Enicar watches are primarily sold in Asia through Hong Kong. As of 2011, Enicar was said to be one of the top 10 imported watch brands in mainland China.
