PVD
PVD is the abbreviation for "physical vapor deposition". This is a method by which a wide variety of materials can be vaporized: steel, aluminum, gold, silver, platinum, tin, nickel, chromium, copper and oxides. More precisely ion particles from the source material of the watch are exchanged through ones with "different color".
PVD-coated materials achieve excellent coating properties:
- High hardness, about 2 to 4 times the hardness of hardened steel
- Smooth surface
- The surface structure is maintained
- Good adhesion
- High density and homogeneity
