Botta is a German watch brand.
The brand, founded by Klaus Botta in 1986, is based in Königstein im Taunus. In the same year, Klaus Botta created the Uno, the first wristwatch with only one hand.
Klaus Botta first studied technical physics at the University of Bayreuth. This was followed by studies in industrial design and product design at the Hochschule für Gestaltung in Offenbach - which sees itself as a direct successor institution to the Bauhaus.
Klaus Botta founded his design studio in 1986 while still a student. From that point on, he was already designing and developing technical products and wristwatches for various clients.
Since 1999, Klaus Botta has been marketing his models under his own name. Klaus Botta has lived and worked in Königstein im Taunus since 2003.
The design of the watches is based on the Bauhaus style, but is understood as a further development. A large number of the models have won design awards.
Most models are offered in parallel either with Swiss mechanical movement (ETA) or with quartz movement.
