Thanks to its vertical coupling the calibre 9907 MC is a truly innovative system. The watchmakers at Cartier have replaced the classic horizontal trigger mechanism, which is fixed to a lateral tilting and requires a lot of energy, by a vertical and in its design very modern variant. Instead of a gear mechanism a mechanism working via friction is used.
