Luxury watch by Girard-Perregaux

With the model Vintage 1945 XXL Tourbillon with 3 Gold Bridges, whose design is essentially inspired by a model of the 1860s years, the Swiss watch manufacturer Girard-Perregaux presented another model of this legendary lineage at the Geneva SIHH 2009.

Simultaneously it celebrated the 125th birthday of its most famous “child” On 25 March 1884, the watchmaker Constantin Girard had applied for a patent at the “United States Patent Office” a drawing with the figure of a watch with three bridges the famous “Tourbillon with three Gold Bridges”. This movement with its three parallel arrow-shaped bridges was regarded as innovative at this time, because it not only convinced with technical and functional components, but also formed an integral part of the design. So the tourbillon under three gold bridges won a gold medal at the Paris World Exhibition of 1889.

Even today, the manufacture Girard-Perregaux continues the tradition of the tourbillon with three gold bridges parallel to the legendary 3 Gold Bridges tourbillon with automatic movement in the circular case there is also a version of the Vintage 1945 with rectangular case and now this new edition in XXL size, which is limited to 50 pieces.
