Chronoswiss is a Swiss (formerly German) watch manufacturer in operation since 1984.
In 1982 the watchmaker Gerd-Rüdiger Lang founded this company in Munich. Chronoswiss is specialized on mechanical wristwatches with Swiss quality movements by ETA as well as on the basis of old calibre stocks by Enicar and Marvin. Also two own calibres are made.
Since 1988 all cases come from in-house production. A particular success was the „Régulateur“, a wristwatch with regulator dial based on the model of precision pendulum clocks. A pocket watch “Regulateur” with a Minerva calibre was also made.
Chronoswiss exports to over 40 countries worldwide. Each year about 7,000 watches are sold in about 500 stores worldwide - in Paris, London, New York and Tokyo.

In 2012, Swiss entrepreneur Oliver Ebstein and his family took over the brand. Since 2014, the company has been headquartered in Lucerne (Switzerland). They remain committed to the philosophy shaped by Lang, but now vary it with three-dimensional dials, innovative materials, and architectural design. The timepieces are manufactured in small, exclusive series at the Lucerne studio.

It is striking that, under the new management and following a transitional phase (see the Sirius series), Lang has now moved away from its previously rather traditional design—which was inspired by classic pocket watches—in favor of a bold, modern, colorful, and at times even shocking design.
