The 1815 Rattrapante Honeygold “Homage to F. A. Lange” is a luxury wristwatch by A. Lange & Söhne.
This model was introduced 2020. It is the sixth rattrapante chronograph from the manufacture. The dial is made of solid silver. The hands are made of rose gold, white gold, rhodium-plated steel and gold-plated steel. Case material is Lange-exclusive Honeygold, a gold alloy with warm tone.
The caliber L101.2 is limited to the essential functions of rattrapante chronographs, thus also omitting display of date and power reserve.
On the other hand, it shines with a craftsmanship perfection that is reminiscent of the historical pocket watches in 1A quality. For example, the raised frame parts are made of nickel silver with grained surfaces. The moving parts of the rattrapante chronograph, such as levers, springs and detents, are decorated with a line-cut finish on the top, while the bevels are polished. This polish presents a particular challenge on the many acute-angled inner corners. The hand engravings on the cocks and bridges as well as the engraved lettering are black rhodium plated. The dark hue of the electroplated coating gives the engravings a striking appearance.
