Sinn 936

Overview

Introduced at Baselworld in 2018, Ref. 936 is a large two-register chronograph model with anti-magnetic properties. It resembles the Sinn 836, introduced at the same time, with a large, plain dial and satin steel case. The case is hardened with TEGIMENT technology and the watch and movement are magnetic resistant to 80,000 A/m.

Ref. 936 uses Sinn's SZ05 movement, which has a 60-minute chronograph counter at 3 00, small seconds at 9 00, and a date window at 6 00. Due to the large size of the dial relative to the movement, the date is inset above the full-sized marker. The movement is based on the Valjoux 7750 design but is reworked by Sinn.

Ref. 936 is quite inexpensive, with a list price of $2,890 on launch.

Both the 936 and companion 836 have the look of a pilot's watch but are not characterized as such by Sinn. Instead, the company emphasizes the magnetic resistance and refers to them as “instrument” watches.
