TAG Heuer - Swiss watch manufacturer

The watch manufacturer Heuer is founded in the year 1860 by Edouard Heuer in Saint-Imier. 1867 the company moves to Biel. 1882 the series production of chronographs begins, and Heuer receives the first patent for a timer mechanism. 1887 follows the invention of the oscillating pinion, which is still used today by well-known watch brands. Heuer's sons, Charles-Auguste and Jules-Edouard Heuer, take over the management of the company in 1891, later Charles-Edouard Heuer continues the family legacy.

On 1 January 1964 the watch manufactures Heuer and Leonidas, Saint-Imier merge to Heuer-Leonidas S.A., with Jack W. Heuer as Managing Director. In the following years Jack W. Heuer is crucially responsible for …
